Our Inclusion Education Facilitators

For more than seven years, the Inclusive School Initiatives has been working in partnership with the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) to provide professional development for teachers.


Our Facilitators increase the teacherís capacity to effectively address student diversity and build inclusive classrooms.

Employed by the Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC) to further inclusive school practices;

  • Inclusion Facilitators with over 70 years of combined experience as teachers, specialist and school administrators;
  • Experienced special education teachers;
  • Facilitators who hold Masters of Education Degrees in Leadership & Staff Development and Leadership & Counseling;
  • Facilitators who have developed curriculum for use by two major public boards.

Our Team

Judith Sherin Bio
Judith Sherin has 34 years of experience in education as a Teacher, Principal and CBE Staff Development Consultant. She holds a Masters of Education Degree in Leadership and Staff Development. She is an experienced educational speaker.

As a school administrator Judith worked in a wide variety of settings including William Roper Hull Child and Family Services. She has a passion for Inclusive education and has successfully led several schools to become leaders in inclusive practice. She has been recognized by both Alberta Education and the DDRC for these accomplishments.


Marie Bowen Bio
Marie Bowen began her career teaching in public education. Over the 20 past twenty years in the field of education she has worked as an educator and administrator in special needs classrooms and regular classrooms spanning the width of grades. She has worked in two public boards and in private schools. She has a graduate diploma in special education and has earned her masterís degree in leadership and counseling.


Susan Stampe Bio
In her 31 years of experience in public education, Susan Stampe has been a Teacher, Principal, and Consultant in Curriculum and in School Improvement. She holds a Masters of Education in Teacher Education and Supervision, with a focus on school improvement. Her experience has included teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12 in inclusive settings in a variety of rural and urban settings. Susan was an administrator in two schools that were recognized by the DDRC for leadership in inclusive practices. She has also taught courses on inclusive educational practices at the university and college level. Susan is a passionate advocate for creating schools where "everyone belongs and can be successful in their learning".
