This aspect of the work involves equipping regular education teachers and their teaching assistants to plan for and develop appropriate adaptations and accommodations that remove barriers to learning for a small percentage of students.
Implementing Best Practices by supporting inclusive strategies in 4 classrooms with 5 teachers to support 6 disabled students
Peer Support and Mediation trained students in the Five Steps of Peer Mediation and assisted in resolving peer conflict during recess. Students were held accountable for bullying. They were given the choice of resolving conflicts with peer mediators or with a teacher.
Building Inclusive Practices by providing information and resources for a Grade 5 team on how to differentiate instruction for a variety of learners. This enabled the students to more fully participate in class activities.
