We believe that spending time developing inclusive attitudes and beliefs and equipping educators with the necessary tools to differentiate curriculum for all students lessens the need for individually “specialized” adaptations and accommodations. This enables all students to remain in their neighbourhood school and to attend school with a consistent set of peers.
For this philosophy to be realized, schools need to be equipped to support the needs of all learners that live within the community. This involves building a school climate of inclusion and providing educators with the skills and knowledge to differentiate their teaching in regular settings.
