Disability Awareness Training

Disability Awareness Information Sessions

Disability Awareness Information Sessions provide a forum for exploring deeply held stereotypes and historical stigma experienced by people with developmental disabilities. Disability Awareness Information Sessions provide a safe learning environment where participants can ask questions and discover their own ability to find the answers to common questions and concerns about interacting and communicating with people with developmental disabilities.

Information sessions are designed to be collaborative, open, and to encourage an exchange of ideas and strategies on how to be more aware, comfortable, and sensitive when interacting and communicating with people with disabilities.

Session facilitators include two qualified trainers from DDRC, including a person with a developmental disability. Information sessions are provided on-site at your organization and can be general in nature and/or tailored according to your organization's specific requirements.

Cost of information sessions:

Corporate Rate
Full Day $100.00 per person (includes lunch)
Half Day $ 50.00 per person
* Reduced rates available to non-profit organizations and
community groups.
